    u sure it was not 50 GB? I'd cut the power and wait 10 min then restart, you may have to go through set up again and if it did not get the whole update, you'll have to do it again.IMO

    hey guys,
    I just got an Xbox One and I'm going through the initial setup process. I got to the point where it downloaded a ~500mb update then automatically restarts. Except the problem is it never restarted, its just sitting at a black screen with the white light flashing on the console.

    I know the light flashing means its downloading a system update but its been about 1 1/2 hours. I got relatively fast internet with 50mb down.

    Is this normal? Should I just wait it out?

    Sadly, as I found out, your tv has to be HDMI compatible. I have ordered a HDMI to VGA converter to allow xbox to be played on this tv. Thanks

    The ferrite cores don't do anything on HDMI, it is cosmetic only. Ferrite cores are meant for power cables to try and prevent high frequency signals travellling down the cable and HDMI cables carry high frequency signals
