setup help for Sennheiser u320 for xbox one

Hi all

I got these for Christmas and could do with some helo setting them up properly.

My tv dosent seem to have red and white audio out, only a headphone socket on the side, its a brand new smart TV Panasonic so im a bit shocked it doesnt have one.

What i have done for the time being is, i have the headset going into the xbox one chat converter, the usb going into the side of the xbox one, and the connector that is red and white connected to a cable i already had which goes from the tv headphone socket
and splits into red and white, which i have then plugged into the controller stereo red and white,

Seems to work, but im confused as to how mainly the chat volume wheel on the headset seems to control most of the sound and i also seem to get a buzzing sound through the headset when there is no sound coming through.



Can anyone let me know if this sounds correct please?

Sennheiser X320 - How To Set Up for the XBOX ONE

Great price for Sennheiser quality. Not as good as their open back cans however this headset is a steal at the price and is about 10 steps above comparable Turtle Beach products. Especially considering the universal version (U320) is so much more expensive.

Hopefully one day they make a console version of something comparable to their G4ME ONE with 7.1 Dolby Headphone Surround but until then, I just use my Sennheiser HD598's and Astro Mixamp.

I took a look at the manual for this headset. If I am not mistaking, you have the 3.5 stereo jack to Red and White RCA males pluged into the femal sides of your "piggy back" RCA to 3.5 stereo jack that came with your headset. The male ends of the "piggy
back" cord can sometimes produce feedback, especially when they come in contact with something else that conducts electricity (i.e. water, moisture and/or radio waves emitted in the air, metal objects, humans, etc.). You can test this by listening to your
buzzing sound while touching the "piggy back" connector. If this is the case, I would suggest getting a stereo jack to stereo jack cord to replace it and see if it stops. As far as the sound being controlled by the chat volume wheel...the Xbox One controller
puts out both chat volume and game volume through the headphone jack in the contrtoller. The chat converter has a few buttons on it to control this. The two symbols on the left (controller symbol and person symbol) adjusts the volume between chat volume and
game volume. If you want to only hear chat, keep pushing the person symbol while listening with your headphones until you hear a beep. That should eliminate the game volume through the controller. The middle button mutes your mic and the other two buttons
on the right ( + and - ) control the level of chat volume. These will beep also when max or min volume levels are obtained from pushing the + or the - buttons.

Another note on the 3.5 stereo to 3.5 stereo male to male cord...

Make sure that the stereo jack on the TV is the same size as the stereo jack on your headphone "in-line" volume controller. Some headphones use a 2.5mm instead of a 3.5mm. The TV is most likely the 3.5mm size.

Compare the one plugged into the TV with the one plugged into you headset "in-line" controller. If they are the same, you will have no trouble finding a 3.5 to a 3.5 (The jack on the Xbox One controller chat converter is 3.5mm also).

If one is thinner than the other, you will have to find a 3.5mm stereo male jack to a 2.5mm stereo male jack. Where I live, the only place I found one was online (eBay is where I got one).
