    Setup for a Home Theatre System with Xbox One


    Before I'm about to shell out £500 on an Xbox One, can someone confirm i have this setup right for my current TV system?

    Currently have:

    Sky HD Box > HDMI > Bluray Home Theatre System > HDMI > Smart TV

    Adding the Xbox One:

    Sky HD Box > HDMI > Xbox One > HDMI > Bluray Home Theatre System > HDMI > Smart TV

    is that right? will the Xbox One still have full features (voice/hand commands)?

    Xbox One Audio Setup Issue

    I just replaced the XBox One in my home theatre system with an XBox One S. Audio on the previous XBox One setup worked just fine. I removed that console and dropped an Xbox One S into it's place, wired it the same way, went through the setup, etc. I do use
    the HDMI passthru to run my TV through the Xboxes. After completing this setup, the TV and associated TV audio did work fine through the Xbox and my Denon home theatre system, but when I run anything else on the S console, all I get is the TV audio. I see
    Netflix and game video, but with TV audio. I've gone through all the audio Setup options I can find in Settings and all the settings on my home theatre, but can never get anything but TV audio. As I said before, this is a straight drop-in replacement. Nothing,
    except the absence of the Kinect, should be any different.

    Anybody got any ideas to try?

    Surround Dolby/DTS 5.1 does not work with apps like Netflix but works with games and TV

    Hi,

    Just got a new Xbox One and I can't make my home theatre work in 5.1 with Netflix (for example), but it works with TV and games. What's weird is that it used to work with my xbox 360, so something must be wrong with the setup

    Current Setup

    TV box connected to xbox one hdmi in

    Xbox one HDMI out to LG Home Theatre (dolby and DTS compatible)

    LG Home Theatre HDMI out to Panasonic 1080p plasma TV

    Xbox one audio set to bitstream DTS as 5.1 does not work when I select the option.

    I've also tried to connect my xbox directly to the TV and use an optical cable for sound but results are the same.

    Any idea?

    Setup for a Home Theatre System with Xbox One

    That is how you would set it up. That puts TV and the Xbox on the same input, and allows for everything to work together.

    I did some of my own investigating.

    For those with with Home Theatres with HDMI

    Cable Box HDMI Out to Xbox One HDMI In

    Xbox One HDMI Out to Home Theatre HDMI In

    Home Theatre HDMI Out to HDTV In

    .

    If using optical audio for sound, connect the toslink from the Xbox One to the HT.

    Same here. Home theatre with equipment tower in back corner near projector. I have used a 10m USB extension for XBox 360 Kinect without issue.

    I haven't pre-ordered an XBOne as I do not know the situation of using a XBOne Kinect in home theatre setup such as ours.

    CONNECTION TO HOME THEATRE SYSTEM

    You can do it through HDMI. Some Home Theatre System (HTS) have "HDMI in", that means it receives the signal from a device - in this case your Xbox - and the HTS is connected to your TV, so you would have no problem with an HDMI cable. In my opinion that's
    the easiest and the best way. You just need the HDMI cables, the HTS and the Xbox.
