settings screen

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a glitch. Maybe someone can help. I just got my xbox one yesterday so I'm still learning to use it. But when I click the top left corner and go to 'Settings' it flashes the screen that has the list
of options: About me, Sign-in security, Privacy and online safety etc etc etc. (the main settings screen) and before i can select anything it instantly pushes me into preferences. I can not access any of my other settings unless i shut off the xbox and turn
it back on. Sometimes that doesn't even work. Right now while writing this I've shut down my xbox multiple times to try to get it to work and each time it flashes the screen and instantly puts me into the same thing: preferences. Please help. Thank you

Anyone else with messed up display after October update?

Have you tried changing the aspect ratio of your tv? Go into the settings on the X1, go to calibrate HDTV, go to the screen that says Aspect Ratio, then go to the settings for your tv, go to picture settings, find aspect ratio and change it until the green bars are visible all the way around the screen.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

Select Console Settings.

Select Display.

Select HDTV Settings.

Select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV or monitor.

 

go to my games and apps tile, then to my apps, then go into settings from there. hope this helps you out

you can pin your settings. thats about it unfortunately. the way you are doing it is settings for your profile

 

You can also press your start button on the controller whilst you on your home screen and scroll down to settings,hope this helps i find it a quick way rather than going through apps
