Settings menu is unresponsive

My xbox suddenly won't let me access portions of the Settings screen and the kinect stopped interacting with my receiver. I did the 15 seconds and unplugging trick and a reset to default trick. nothing worked. when i click TV it hangs and gives me an error.
in the settings menu I click "display and audio" and it crashes back to the dashboard. Any help?

Drums dying altogether- warning for those considering buying them

we're on our fourth set

1st set - red pad became unresponsive
2nd set - foot pedal unresponsive out of the box
3rd set - yellow cymbal became unresponsive (i think the kids may have had something to do with that)

thankfully I bought ours from Costco who's returns policy is 2nd to none

 

The controller update bricked my controller.

Same problem here. Controller is UnResponsive unless using it USB attached. Wireless isn't working. Holding the jewel button shows the shut down console menu but nothing about the controller itself as if it wasn't connected.

 

As you already have chekced all other options I'd suggest a reset back to factory settings.

 

This happened to me as well, about a week ago. I'll try the 15-second reset/unplug when I get home; I hope that resolves the issue. Just wanted you to know that you weren't alone...

 

Are you using an audio receiver? I was having trouble with mine as well and just unplugged the receiver and it let me get into the menu and change it back to stereo uncompressed and it worked fine after that. I think the system may have a bad driver in
it or something. Try taking it back to just the xbox and TV plugged into the console and see if that helps, then start plugging things back in.

 

I just had this occur: Couldn’t access Achievements, Settings, or search the Games Store. Following the advice above, I shut down the device, unplugged the power supply from the wall, did the long-count to 15, plugged it back in and cycled the power: All-good
