Settings Menu Error - Settings Goes Straight to Preferences

When I attempt to access the Settings menu on my Xbox One, I am directed straight to the Preferences menu, which is supposed to be chosen after accessing the Settings menu. Sometimes, when the error occurs, the Preference menu will show...and then suddenly
shoot me over to the Settings menu like I wanted; but it's random. Last night I tried again and clicking Settings menu simply takes me straight to Preference menu and stays there. I was originally trying to troubleshoot an Xbox Live networking issue, but now
can't access my Networking menu (because I have to get to the Settings menu first).

Any guidance on this matter is greatly appreciated...

Settings malfunction

I'm having this problem with the XB1 settings in the top left corner by my GT Icon. NORMALLY, you would click the settings and it would bring you to a page where you can select from a list of things like Preferences, Kinect, Sign-in, etc. Well for me,
when I click settings, it goes straight to the Preferences page and won't let me go to any of the other settings pages that I need to go to. If i say "Xbox go to settings," it just goes straight to the preferences page again and there's no way to navigate
back to the main settings page with all the different tabs. It is really annoying and has been glitching like that ever since I got it.

Is there a fix for this or what do I have to do?

Multiplayer preference setting?

I wanted to know if there was a way to set Slayer as like preferred match. I keep getting banned from playing online because i hate ctf and that's the only matches I get put in. I've been trying to play this game for hours and every
single match ends up being ctf so I try to find a new match. I want to play Halo big team Slayer but original Halo only 4 players allowed instead of 16

Do you use the "instant on" mode? If so, have you tried a full reboot of the console? Hold your finger on the power button (on the console itself) for about 10 seconds and it will fully shut off. The light on the PSU will turn orange. Then boot it back up
and see if that clears the issue.

change settin in main menu, like ops2, you can set it to load what you want, like mine goes straight to squads on load.....

What abou the xbox settings itself did y'all try to set preferences that y'all want for his account straight from the xbox?

has anyone been able to resolve this? my sons is doing the same. goes straight to the error message code and controller does nothing, no menu selection. just frozen

My xbox one x which i bought recently turns on then goes straight to the troubleshooting menu then i reset to factory settings then freezes and goes into a cycle from turning on then not even powering on and it is just not usable right now and it
keeps giving me these errors i have tried to follow troubleshooting steps on the Microsoft website but it has not helped, If anyone has any tips or tricks to fix this please get in touch. Many Thanks
