Settings malfunction

I'm having this problem with the XB1 settings in the top left corner by my GT Icon. NORMALLY, you would click the settings and it would bring you to a page where you can select from a list of things like Preferences, Kinect, Sign-in, etc. Well for me,
when I click settings, it goes straight to the Preferences page and won't let me go to any of the other settings pages that I need to go to. If i say "Xbox go to settings," it just goes straight to the preferences page again and there's no way to navigate
back to the main settings page with all the different tabs. It is really annoying and has been glitching like that ever since I got it.

Is there a fix for this or what do I have to do?

xbox one not sending commands to TiVo

New update. Malfunction continues. Adjusting delay worked for a few hours. Malfunction is still present

So what happend to the dedicated servers?

Malfunctions would bum any consumer out, otherwise they wouldn't be called malfunctions.

Also, please don't bump incredibly old threads...

It could be something which happens to some apps when they haven't been shut down and are still running in conjunction with other games/apps so returns you to the screen you were last on. Try the following.

Go to your settings as you describe above

It'll probably do as you mention and show you the Preferences page

Press the Xbox button in the middle of your controller to go back to dashboard

You should see the Preferences in the main window, if it isn't already, highlight it

Press the Menu button (three lines) on your controller

Select QUIT

It should change to the cog icon that represents the Settings app

Wait a few seconds, select the settings again

It should load up the main settings page where you see all the options.

But yeah, it's a bit of a let down, not even as 'fun' as I was expecting it to be.

Sounds like your disc drive is malfunctioning. I suggest contacting Xbox Support, you may have to set up a repair.

It would seem that the NIC malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. Calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX you can help verify this and set up a repair if need be.
