    We just got our son a new Xbox. My husband already had purchased several games using my sons gmail address. When he generated the Microsoft invitation which we apparently have to accept before he shows as active, the email comes in but I click Join Now, and then it says "That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get a new one. If he's already made purchases using this email address we don't want to create a new one. Why won't it accept a gmail address?

    Sorry to hear about the issue. If you're consistently experiencing issues connecting to your home network, you may want to try >>factory resetting<<
    your Xbox One console (you can keep your games and apps) and see if that helps.

    Are you sure you are signing with the correct Microsoft account? Can you sign in with the same account at the Microsoft account webpage (https://account.microsoft.com/profile)?

    Based on the error codes "0x80A40008" This may mean one of the following things:

    There's an Xbox Live connectivity issue.

    You entered the wrong Microsoft account information (email address or password).

    There's an issue with your Microsoft account.

    You have too many accounts saved to your Xbox One console.

    Kindly remove your Microsoft account from your console > restart your console > re-add your Microsoft account > then check to see if it works here's how to remove your account:

    1.Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

    2.Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

    3.Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

    > Then restart your console and proceed with the next steps. You've got nothing to worry as this will not delete your saved data progress.

    Please take your time and let me know if it works.
