Setting up Xbox 360 to receiver for first time

I am trying to set up my Xbox 360 and HDTV via my receiver. Before I had everything going through a DVD player, with I have rid from the equation, and now I am clueless on how to get everything back on. I have an Onkyo tx-sr705 receiver with plenty of
HDMI wires which I basically have plugged in where they all were previously, minus the DVD player. If anyone can give me video or a detailed walk through to get this solves that would be great. I have already tried to use Youtube but there are so many different
receiver models on there with a vast difference from mine, and the rear of those don't seem to be similar to mine. Please help!!

Setting up console for first time

I just got the xbox one an hour ago. I'm trying to get to update so i can use the console. I keep getting an error message that the update won't work. And i can't access anything without this update.

its pretty easy actually all the inputs and outputs are labeled. I am a fellow Onkyo owner so I can help ya out. you run a HDMI cable from the amp to the TV there should be a jack marked output or out to tv or monitor out. then plug the HDMI cable that
goes into your 360 to the amp itself pick one of the free jacks they should all be individually labeled, I have mine plugged into one labeled GAME then just make sure the GAME input is selected when you turn it on. if you have any other issues post back,

You have to press the Xbox button in the centre of the controller until it lights up.

Also you will have to connect it up to the internet eventually, as it will have quite a large download to update the OS.
