Setting up a gift xbox one

I want to set up the xbox one I bought my son with some games, and have them all downloaded and ready to go when I give him the console. He uses my primary microsoft account as the login associated with his games on his xbox 360. My question is if I set
up the xbox one and buy the games under the account, will there be any notification when he plays hix xbox 360, that an xbox one has been used with the account? I don't want to ruin the surprise, and if he sees anything about an xbox one when he logs in,
he will know. Smart kid.

Wow, Xbox One. I have to say this might be the worst product I have purchased in a long time.

The xbox one console is a gift for my son for Christmas. still has not played anything. worst experience ever!!!!!!!! wii was so easy to set up. i tried setting up an account over and over and over again. wouldn't work. XBOX One is very expensive and a HUGE
disappointment. Thanks for the tears of sadness and frustration Microsoft. I can't wait to give my business to anyone else.

if you're signing into the console under his Live account to buy digital games, i only see 2 issues, 1.) he will receive an email confirmation about the games being purchased from Microsoft and 2.) if you sign in under his Live account, anyone on his friends
will see him sign in on a Xbox One in their friends list.

might be best to just buy a game or 2 on disc starting off.

 

I think its his father's account. So he (the father) would get the e-mail.

 

The only thing he could spot is in the achievement section it will say xbox one not sure if it always shows this or just if you have xbox one

 

Best idea make a new profile get games on that then add the used one that's what I did at Xmas so kids didn't notice I had got them one while they had 360

 

oh, i missed that part that said the email account wasn't the son's.

 

the Xbox 360 shows nothing about the Xbox One outside of current friend's activity. so as long as you aren't playing the games and just installing them, you should be fine. he won't see "last played" so to speak if you're just downloading.

and as long as he's unable to check the billing confirmations via email when you do purchase the games, you're fine. he won't see any of the games on his Xbox 360.

^This is the one thing that would concern me... as others have said, there really isn't anything that will give away the surprise as long as the account and email is handled by
OP. But, it's only going to take one friend that happens to notice he logged into an X1 and that friend gets excited, wanting to know what it's like or something...

 

I just did a test I've just made a new profile on xbox 360 check achievements says 0 then I added account to x1 then went back on 360 into achievements and the xbox 1 appered
