Setting a fixed LAN IP address on NEW xbox1

I have just unboxed a new xbox1 console.

My router is set for fixed LAN ip addresses (business).

Im setting up the new xbox1 and I can't find any advanced network settings. Ive press the "menu" button on the controller - nothing.

How do I add a fixed lan ip address to a new console?

Heaven forbid options are made easy for the consumer lol.

    :)

    Random Disconnects on Ethernet

The Arris TG852G/CT is known as a troublemaker.

Could you try reserv an IP for your Xbox using Fixed DHCP Clients. This will ensure that your Xbox gets the same IP address each time using Fixed DHCP Clients.

Disable Port Forwarding, DMZ if any of these features are currently turned on. Reset your Xbox network settings to factory defaults and make sure your Xbox obtain IP and DNS
Automatic. Find out your Xbox MAC address. On your router: Go to LAN Setup and choose DHCP Clients. Add your Xbox MAC address and type in an IP address that is not in use. Save settings. Reboot your Xbox and make sure it has the IP address
    you have reserved for it.

Use the same "fixed" IP address and place it to the DMZ. Make sure UPnP is disabled along with Port Forwarding.

    DHCP Reservation

    Select Advanced Setup

Select Lan IP and DHCP settings

Under the DHCP reservation section, manually add the Xbox's MAC address and choose the IP address

Restart the Xbox and test the connection, the Xbox's IP address will now update.

I Fixed it....The MS helps were useless!

Ok, to set a fixed IP LAN address on xbox one:

    - Connect network cable (NOT WIFI: WIFI WONT LET YOU SPECIFY CUSTOM IP ADDRESS)

    - No matter what you read pressing "Menu button" on controller never works during the first set up.

    - Using network cable, It gets a bit blurry here from memory and i wasn't going back to trace steps, but click "Try again", then when that fails a 3rd option becomes available "Advanced"...That magic word. Then you are ok.

These options, and the "Menu button" on hand controller did nothing when I was trying a wifi connection with router.

USE A NETWORK CABLE if DHCP is disabled on your router.

    Good luck.

To enter a static IP address press the menu button and select settings then go to Network – Advanced Settings – IP Settings – Manual. Then you need to enter the IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway.

Yea - After you have done the initial setup!

"To enter a static IP address press the menu button" - The Menu Button was totally inactive during the first setup phase in both wireless and wired setup. The on screen menu option "Advanced" became available when using a wired connection only. Then all
    configurations could be entered.

    Moderate Nat

    Hello gamer,

1 Change the DHCP Range from

    OLD settings .2 to .254

    To NEW settings

    100 to 254

2 Then on the Xbox setup a Static IP outside of that range.

    For example.

If the router's LAN IP is 192.168.1.1, the Starting IP Address is 192.168.1.00 and the Ending IP Address is 192.168.1.254, then you could set the Xbox to use 192.168.1.6

3 Then in the router when you forward the ports to the Xbox, send the traffic to the Xbox's Static IP

    Keep us posted
