  1. Set Xbox One screen size manually?

    Hello,

I currently have an old TV, probably the first generation HD TV and this cuts the picture on the HDMI port by about 5% (Overscan?). Unfortunately, this TV definitely has no option to set this and even with the XBOX I can't find an
option to set this manually? I'm too stupid to find it? There is an "Overscan" function in the settings but it doesn't change anything.

I also have a Nintendo Switch and a PS4 and since I can miraculously resize the image manually directly on the console, doesn't the Xbox have such a feature hidden somewhere? (I dont want to change the resolution itself, I want resize the picture inside the
    resolution!)

    :)

  2. Screen. Size whilst playing DVDs

This will sound dumb I know but oh well . I wanted to play a DVD and the screen size changes to 4:3, however on the Xbox 360 you could change the size to letterbox, however I can't seem to find the button on the Xbox one, does it exist or do I need to
live with it lol . Also it's nothing to do with my tv as that's set to 16:9

  3. Screen size

Would be even better if that was a console feature so that everything would properly fit TVs with overscan (image larger than screen).

    -

You can go into settings -> system -> console settings -> display -> HDTV settings, then choose one of the resolutions below 1080p/720p.. For instance, 1920x1080 or 1300x720. Image should fit the screen perfectly.

  4. Set Xbox One screen size manually?

What is your TV model? Some of the older sets typically have a "zoom" option, which would crop or stretch the image. There might even be options to "offset" the picture vertically or horizontally.

    Broken HDMI port

Hi. My name is Brilliant and I am happy to assist you.

Unfortunately, the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles do not have a built-in feature to manually adjust the screen size. The console relies on the TV's settings to adjust the screen size, so if your TV does not have the option to adjust screen size, you will not be able to adjust it on the console.

I hope this helps resolve your query.

Manually Adjust Screen Size On Xbox One / Series X | S

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    good evening

Unfortunately, the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles do not have a built-in feature to manually adjust the screen size. The console relies on the TV's settings to adjust the screen size, so if your TV does not have the option to adjust screen size, you will not be able to adjust it on the console.

However, there is a workaround for this issue. You can try using the "Overscan" setting on your TV. Overscan is a feature that allows you to adjust the size of the image being displayed on your screen. This will help you to adjust the screen size to fit the edges of your TV.

The steps to adjust overscan may vary depending on your TV, but you can usually find it in the TV's menu under "Picture" or "Display" settings. Once you have found the overscan option, you can adjust the size of the image being displayed on your screen.

It's worth noting that the feature is not available on all televisions and brands, it's a TV specific feature, you may want to check your TV's manual or consult the manufacturer's website for more information on how to access and use this feature.

Another option is to use a third-party device such as a scaler, which can adjust the resolution and aspect ratio of the video signal being sent to your TV. These devices can be connected between the Xbox and the TV, and can provide more flexibility in adjusting the screen size.

I have the same problem. Some games have an option to shrink the screen size, but most don't. The dashboard needs an option to change screen size. Because I can't do it manually on my tv.
