Set up issue

Setting my xbox seriess for the first time on my tv when the power cord accidentally got unplugged. When I restarted the xbox to continue set up it went to a screen that said start update or turn off console. The problem is when I tried to select start update nothing would happen. I tried restarting a couple of times but brings me to the same screen and I can't select any option. Please help... this was my son's xmas present.
