Set this Xbox as home Xbox error while playing offline

My Xbox is set as home Xbox and I can’t play anything digital or physical while offline

To play your digital games offline, the console you wish to use them must be the home console for your account. You must set the home console while connected to Xbox LIVE. Once the 'Home' console is set, you can play all Xbox One games offline, even the
digital ones.

In regards to the original question about playing BC Xbox 360 games offline, the answer is yes. You can play Xbox 360 games offline too. How do I know? I've just tried it with the Xbox Arcade game 'Perfect Dark' and it worked fine.

As long as the xbox one is set as your home xbox and you go into offline mode while still connected to the internet by going into settings and network settings and go offline you should be able to play your games.

The only exception to that is the games that are online only games.

but to play digitally owned games while offline the Xbox will need to be set as your Home Xbox (or the Home Xbox for the account that owns the games)

you won't get achievements while your Xbox is offline and some games require online to play (even some single player games) but for most solo games this should work.

Thanks for the update. The Xbox One console will only play digital games if there is an active connection to the internet. In order to play digital games offline, your console must be set as your Home Xbox. The Home Xbox setting lets your console recognize
your purchase while offline, allowing any profile on the console to use your content.
