Easy way to kill the feeders is to get the gun that has a secondary weapon that deals acid damage. I forget the name of it, but it shoots a spinning baton on the floor. Regardless of waht it is, it hits that, falls down, and continues getting chopped up.
No regen, no advanced forms generating from the wounded creature, nothing. It's will be in one of the blueprints you find. I was using the carbine with underbarrel shotgun for a long time ,and had the plasma cutter as a secondary weapon. I dumped the secondary
weapon for the one I described above, and the difficulty came down about two orders of magnitude.
