    Servicing and Repair are just sending a faulty device back to me


    My Xbox One 1TB started freezing and crashing regularly just after it passed the 12 month warranty period. It got to the point where it could be used for about 20 minutes, then would all lock up.

    Contacted support numerous times, went through the hassle of resetting to factory, checking every setting, resetting everything the support people could think of but nothing worked. A reset would get the device up and running again for a week or so, but
    once I started downloading the games etc again, the issue would come back and would start freezing and crashing.

    So, I sent it in for repair.

    Got it back a week or so later with a note that said "We've reset it to factory settings and tested it". Not surprisingly, considering i had already done this a number of time, this didn't work.

    As it was now under the 90 day repair warranty, I sent it back for repair again.

    Got it back today with the same note - they've reset it and tested it and just sent it back. They are evidently not repairing the fault - what can i do? When I go on to the support page now to get it repaired again, it only allows
    me to raise a support request for one of the accessories and not the device itself.

    Why is Microsoft locking all the threads about disconnecting controllers?

    People are getting told to send console in for repair but the repair contractors are just factory resetting units and sending them out still faulty and Microsoft does nothing about it!

    This is a tough one. At this point they should have already sent you a new console.

    I don't see a solution besides buying another console or just sending it off yet again.

    Sounds to me that you have a faulty console. Your best bet would be to send it in for service. Make sure your console is registered here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices and then select it and book it in for repair.

    sounds to me it might a faulty one send it in for repair if your warrety is still in you might get the repair for free or if you just bought it take it back to the store to get it replaced

    Microsoft do offer a repair service for faulty xbox consoles. The xbox device service offers to repair consoles. If the device is still within its warranty then there is no charge for repair, whereas there is a charge if the device is out of warranty

    would not read discs. Ended up sending back to the original seller who only offered a partial refund after receiving it back because of the cosmetic damage caused by the service center. Then after i had sent it back to the seller i received an email from
    MS claiming they had offered a replacement unit not a repair. This was a blatant lie as i was only offered another repair not replacement.
