I don't own a flash drive, I don't have internet. So I bought an XboxOneS, I then realized I had to update the console before I'm actually playing the game.

Grrrrrrrr Microsoft Cust Service

I had a faulty pad (down on the dpad did not click and was unreliable). Phoned up game and they had a returned day one console (faulty drive) and they just swapped the pad straight over. I think, they would have offered to replace with new (non day one )handset if they didn't have the faulty returned xbox one.

 

Sorry to hear you're upset. However, an internet connection is required for the initial set up of the console. After that you can play offline as much as you like. Do you have a friend or neighbor nearby who is willing to share their internet to set the
console up?
