    Hello

    I put in an Advance Exchange request on 14 December 2015. The console was lost and a new service request had to be opened up. However, I was not informed of any of this until I chased up on three separate occasions. I have only just received a replacement
    console today - over 5 weeks late. Having escalated my complaint to the offline team, your colleagues Billy D and Mark Jude said that I should post on this forum to request additional compensation beyond the one month Xbox Live that comes as standard with
    the Advance Exchange program. It was agreed that further compensation needs to be offered to reflect the poor service, stress and inconvenience caused by these issues.

    Hey SuperJan,

    Unfortunately there is no way for us to offer compensation for this specific issue. If our support team offered a month of Xbox Live, and you have not received it, you will need to reach back out to them to work with them. Our team is a separate team than
    the phone/chat teams. You may need to explain that we are unable to generate codes.

    Sincere apologies for the frustration, please let us know if the issue persists after reaching back out to them.

    My last post got locked without a helpful answer. So posting another one.

    Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened.

    I reject this answer because the support agent referred me here and having spoken to THREE of these agents they have all said that they have no authority to grant any compensation whatsoever. So please point me in the direction of someone who can.

    Definitely understand the frustration that is caused, but unfortunately we do not have the ability to offer compensation. This would specifically have to happen between you and the support agent you worked with.

    We're sincerely sorry to hear about the experience.

    The good news is that using that number I actually talked to a human being in the U.S.

    The bad news is the call took 1 hour and 37 mins and, not shockingly, the original service request had inexplicably been canceled. In addition, the service request had been entered for a phantom console serial number that was not associated with my account.
    The customer support rep couldn't have been nicer but I've had it with Microsoft. The company is defined by total incompetence and it's too large to have any systems that talk to each other. The customer service agent was as frustrated as I was.

    I don't play Xbox nor any other MSFT games and I will never play them nor buy another MSFT product (this is all for my kids' stupid controller). Adios!

    Service Request Number?

    After a couple of hours of trying and trying again I have eventually managed to chat to someone using the above advise!

    The agent I was chatting to transferred me to the "hardware" department and a new service request has been set up for me.

    It is a shame Microsoft makes you jump through so many hoops to speak to a live agent, but all sorted at last.
