    I am a 39 year old gamer, who treats his devices with respect. My wife bought me an Elite 2 Controller back in December 2019 and the warranty is still valid until December 2020. Towards the end of May I found the left analogue stick was moving characters
    in games on it's own a little and the RB button had become pretty unresponsive.

    So, I decided to create a service order on 31/05/20 and followed the instructions, printed the label, boxed up my controller and sent it off to Germany for a standard exchange warranty service order. The item was collected from my local shop on 02/06/2020
    and was delivered to MS in Frankfurt, Germany on 03/06/2020 - wow, quick service I thought.

    Last week on Monday 15/06/20 I thought to myself, I now COVID-19 is slowing everything down but I haven't heard a thing from MS for two weeks, so I went into my online account and checked the service order. It says cancelled? No explanation, nothing, just
    cancelled. The order was cancelled on 08/06/2020 and I am yet to receive my device back (time of writing 23/06/2020).

    Can anyone help me? I have tried to get to speak with someone who is human at MS but this appears to be impossible?

    Has anyone else had this problem?

    The controller is worth £160 and I sent it to MS in good faith, as per their instructions but yet it appears lost?

    Any help would be welcomed.

    Actually you can request a repair order without requesting a callback from Microsoft , try following these steps:

    First, sign in at https://support.microsoft.com/devices and then select Register new device. (if your device already appears, ignore this step)

    After you've registered, you’ll see the warranty status for your device. If it’s within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you’ll be charged a repair fee.

    After you’ve registered your devices, follow these steps:

    - In the Overview section of the Device repair page, select Repair my device.

    - Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.

    After Device repair receives your submission, they’ll send you a service order number and an order confirmation email that has shipping or drop-off instructions.

    Send in your device as soon as possible. If you don’t ship within 30 days, your service order is canceled and the shipping label will no longer be valid. In countries or regions that offer a drop-off exchange, you must go to the drop-off center within 7 days from the date you created the order.

    Select the device that you want repaired.

    Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.

    "In some countries, Microsoft offers an Advanced Exchange Service ("STA"), where you may receive a device before sending yours to Microsoft for repair, under certain conditions. If your Microsoft Device qualifies, Microsoft will ship a replacement device (the "Advanced Exchange Device") to your designated location when you request covered warranty service. You must ship the genuine device to Microsoft within fourteen (14) days from the date Microsoft ships the advanced exchange device. By choosing to add the STA to your covered warranty service request, you AGREE to the following terms:

    Your Microsoft Device does not qualify for STA if it is damaged and/or is not covered under the warranty and Microsoft Manufacturer's Hardware Limited Warranty Agreement, Extended Hardware Service plan, or Microsoft Complete plan, as applicable.

    The Advance Exchange Device will be delivered to you in a box with a prepaid shipping label.

    You must use this label to return the Microsoft Device for which you received the Advance Exchange Device and for which you are requesting warranty service. You must ship the original device to Microsoft in the same box within 14 days of the date Microsoft ships the Early Exchange Device.

    To ensure that the genuine Microsoft Device is returned, Microsoft may ask you to provide us with a valid credit card number. In that case, YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED if you return the genuine Microsoft Device (with the serial number provided) within 14 days of the date Microsoft ships the Early Exchange Device.

    You will be paid the cost of the Early Exchange Device and a handling fee equal to the current MSRP of the Early Exchange Device if: (1) Microsoft does not receive the genuine Microsoft Device within 14 days of the date the Microsoft sends you the Advanced Exchange Device as directed by the carrier's control system; (2) The Microsoft Device is not under warranty; and/or (3) the Microsoft Device is excluded from warranty or service. If Microsoft asked for your credit card number, IT WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE FEES AUTOMATICALLY.
