    Service Isn't Working Right ... Still


    I am an infrequent gamer. Last month I turned on my Xbox to play my disk based Skyrim and only to receive the following notification upon launch:

    "Try again in a while

    Sorry, looks like our service isn't working right. To check Xbox Live Service Status, go to https://support.xbox.com"

    I looked online, saw it was some kind of general issue many people were having and decided to wait patiently.

    I have since tried 3 more times.

    I have since tried every option I've seen in these forums.

    I have restarted. I have restarted my router. I have ensured all game and device updates are fully downloaded and installed. I have detached all cables for 20 minutes then cycled it on. I have cleared the MAC Address.

    I just want to play my game! Please help!

    Can you please let us know what console you are on (Xbox 360 or Xbox One) so that we can go ahead and provide support catered to that specific console.

    Usually when i get that message i do a power cycle/hard reset.

    After that i can play my games again.

    Hi there, i am sorry your experiencing issues with the xbox live service have you checked your routers firewall and have you checked port forwarding i would advise these options as the xbox live system is currently active and working no reports have been
    issued as of late.

    To me this looks like a router and internet issue other than a server side issue on microsoft's side of things i hope this information helps you find to cause of the issue.

    Sorry to hear you are running into these issues with the service. At the moment there does not seem to be any active service alerts.

    Can you please let us know what console you are on (Xbox 360 or Xbox One) so that we can go ahead and provide support catered to that specific console.
