service infromation misleading

I am not very happy with the service i have with xbox one customer service.

Basicaly i complained about a problem with my controller about 7 months ago (controller still under warranty then)

And was advised a update will be out soon to rectify the problem and we know about it.

Problem is controller keeps going out of sync and re syncing most of the time. It works fine while hard wired by the lead

I rang up again also advised a update will be availible still waiting

Now i got fed up with waiting for update and re contacted customer support went through trouble shooting still didnt work

Got a email saying we might have to give u a replacement controller please irng customer service to organise a replacement.

I spoke to customer service again on the 11th march 2017 was advicesed again there an update coming out to fix that issue with in a week, No update came.

Rang them up again spoke to customer service was advised you need to replace the controller. but i am out of warranty. was told i had to pay for it Not happy about this because i was if i was adviced this 7 months ago my controller would of been under warranty

So what advice can you give me to rectify without going to trading standards

I would not expect customer service to have any reliable information about the release schedule of firmware updates. Those are issued out on a "when it's done" basis as far as I can tell.

Your only options are as follows:

a. Try a new set of batteries. Ensure they remain a tight fit in the battery terminals.

b. Eliminate any physical obstructions or other sources of wireless interference between the controller and console. Keep them within line of sight with each other if you can.

It's kind of misleading that only "core services are down" and it doesn't indicate that, as a result, literally every other service is unavailable since you have to be signed in to do anything with this thing.
