Servers

We must pay a price to use or Xbox's on the internet to play game. I play cod mw most of the time or Netflix the Netflix works good but the mw I lag a lot. The main reason for the lag is Microsoft want supply the dedicated server for the games. That
is what we pay the live subscription for. I know some people will say the game manufacture should do this. If so we would need to pay them to keep the servers up. So my point is we must pay to use the Xbox online they should they should supply the
dedicated servers for the games.

Its hardly a waste of money if entire regions lose trust and stop buying the games. That's one hell of a lot worse. My problem with all of it is it's advertised, and not followed through. Heists in gta, where? I watched the trailer before I purchased the
game, the content isnt in there. Ghosts advertised aus servers, they were postponed till now and still arent up. I have not been able to play a single game of that. Marketing came back for another punt before advanced warfare came in. But still, those servers
are not operating either. Even to get to these forums I crossed an ad bragging the best connections for gaming because of the servers. Right now, its one big falsely advertised lie that nobody is accountable for. Yes its a business, and not for 1 second would
I let them off the hook because it's expensive to support your own products. We get charged way more for games here and there are expensive in general. Its not like they're scraping for cash. Now halo, same deal. What can be done in these situations?

 

Activision mades the choice to use their own servers.....Not Microsoft fault.

 

MS provides dedicated servers for all developers to use. None do however. IF developers did use these servers no one would buy MP games on PS4. Gotta love dat Parity.

 

Im not buying any more MP focused games that dont use them. Im over that experience. Maybe the Devs/Publishers will wake up soon the more people skip games because of this.

 

When MS originally set up Xbox Live they mandated that all publishers would have to use their servers, but either EA or Activision (I think it was EA) said no and because they wouldn't have released games for the Xbox unless MS backed down, MS were forced
to allow them to use their own servers.

Another part of the problem is cross-platform game development. You're much more likely to see exclusives using Azure for dedicated servers because of that, which we've seen with Forza 5, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and the Master Chief
Collection so far, which aren't all Xbox One exclusive, but they're all MS exclusive.

 

Gold subscription gives you access to MP, no were does it say it offers Dedicated servers, that the developers and publisher and sadly most of them think profit over experience and dedicated servers eat into that and also can increase development times.
