You mentioned this issue starting recently. A couple of thoughts as you didn't state these in your post.

1) Have you contacted your ISP to determine if there's a problem with your connection?

2) Have you visited your router's support site to see if they have an update available?

I'm kind of having the same kind of issue. For some reason, I keep getting disconnected from xbox live, and when I try to log back in, it says that it can't be able to log me in and that I have to check the connection between xbox live and the internet.
The internet is 100% fine, the xbox live service here is still ok, and connection is great, but I don't know what the problem is then. My 360 is fine, so what's the problem then?

Ah ok. Thanks. This is indeed an intriguing issue. Are you having trouble with connections outside of Xbox Live? Back in the day, I was having some issues maintaining a connection on XBL when the 1vs100 game was available. The game was quite intensive
when it came to internet connectivity, and even had some of the fine folks at Microsoft/Xbox help me troubleshoot the problem. They found my area's internet pipe was running smoothly but for some reason my account/profile was showing timeouts. I decided to
upgrade to the Wireless N adapter & purchase a new router (Netgear WNDR3700) and *bamf* never had another issue with XBL connections. Even the problem of not being able to auto-connect to XBL disappeared.

I do see you're connected wired, but, perhaps the router itself is failing? If available, have you tried anothe router port? Different CAT5 cables?
