There is most likely some issue with your connection. Check this link out, might help. It mainly pertains to Xbox LIVE connection issues, but it may help.

server connection problem

I play most mornings before work but just lately our connection has been rubbish. i run about 200 meg but I'm in the red on my connection bar, is there some issues with the UK server? It only seems to be when we play against players from Europe .

I got the game for Christmas, played it a little bit and the error message came up. Is there a fix for it yet???

They went up for about an hour and just crashed again about 20 minutes ago, about 10 minutes later they crashed again. The servers are still down.
