Seriously think Xbox One games are to expensive!

You cant really complain about the price if you are buying newly released games.

I hardly ever pay over $20 for any game the few exceptions are if they become insanely rare or will become unbelievably difficult to find in the future.

Many of my games do not even go above the $10 price range.

If you are concerned with saving money then you should probably wait for these new games to become old bargain bin clearance items. Dont buy new games on release day,

 

In Australia X1 games range from $80 to $100 a hit, when you look at the money that goes into making these games its a small price to pay for great games and healthy industry.

Also, for those still buying discs you can either sell or trade them when your done, so really the cost is minimal!

 

I don't think games publishers and consoles manufacturers will drops their prices, because some countries got higher taxes or different currency values....

 

Playing video games in the UK is an expensive hobby, but I have yet to pay over £50 for a Xbox One game.

 

Op: Their was a thread sometime back where Canadians were having to pay heftier prices($70.00 ^ if memory serves) for next-gen games as well. Makes no sense - and the community can correct me if I am wrong- to price the X1, and ps4 consoles the same in every
country, but the prices of games vary by country.

Be nice to hear from the Aussies as to how their next-gen games are priced.

The console is different price too;

X1 + Kinect $599

X1 - $499

 

High prices in Australia..... People earn more from their jobs their so comparing the UK prices to Aussie prices is a unfair comparison.

Yep next gen game prices are too high at the moment on both next gen consoles, another reason not to upgrade. So many reasons not to upgrade at the moment.

 

In my country the price of One games are the same as what the 360's always were. Now the 360 games are $10-20 cheaper. It is understandable how things may get more expensive as the cost to make these things goes up... Just like everything else in the world.

 

I make a decent income, but I'm not an idiot with my money. There are only a very select few games I'll pay $60 for. I feel supremely dumb when I buy a new release and end up tossing it to the side after a couple hours, and if I don't like a game I won't
force myself to finish it.

 

It's taken me a while to get into the swing of how I buy my games as I used to buy willy-nilly new or used, now I'm really selective with what I will buy at release time. Some games I will still buy new months later for 1/4 the cost which is a good feeling.

Other times I'll wait and it won't budge from $60 and then all of sudden every copy has vanished form every store..... (NG3 Razors Edge, I'm looking at you).

Though like Mafivee said, X1 games are now the same price 360 games used to be and the 360 ones have dropped $10 or so. I guess my point is, play it smart and you won't feel like they're too expensive.

 

The price will come down. 360 game's at release were £50, within a year they were £40. I remember buying GT and Res evil 2 for the Playstation and they were £45 each, that was over 15 years ago?

 

Why can't we get games at $50 anymore? Especially if you buy them digitally.

 

People need to understand - games on X360 are cheaper because developers get more sales, hence need to make less profit per sale, whereas, because there are only 5 million of so X1s then they expect less sales quantity hence need to make more profit per
sale.

Especially since greater graphics demand more artists working on development of the game - the credits for Ryse take ages there are so many people involved in making a AAA game.

Also the £40 price for past generation has bucked the inflation trend, whereas the rate for developers has gone up (I am a developer) - hence we were "lucky" X360 game prices didn't go up.

The issue around price of digital games is a different topic - I agree they should be cheaper than discs and the same across regions but retailer relationship/politics come in play.

 

Perhaps you could just move to the US. I hear games are a little cheaper.
