Serious problem with controller and other accessory quality.

So I don't know what I expect to get out of this post, maybe an explanation or maybe I'm doing something wrong that can be pointed out... But here's the crux of my issue: Xbox brand accessories are garbage and have no longevity.

I got my xbox one just under two years ago. Since then, I've gone through 2 chat headsets, 2 stereo headsets, and FOUR controllers. I'm an adult and the only person using them; I don't throw my controllers, I don't leave them laying around. I baby them.
They're put on a shelf when not in use.

Every.Single.Damn.Controller has developed drifting in one or both of the analogs. And the most recent one, while pressing L3 and turning right (I use it for air roll in Rocket League) made a snapping noise and now I have a chunk of plastic floating around
in it and L3 is practically unusable. This last controller can't be more than three months old, and was replacing a 10 month old controller. Now I'm not smashing these buttons either, I can't even squeeze that hard as I have some athritic pain that prevents
me from doing so. They are simply not made well, and kiiiiiinnddda feels like some engineered obsolescence to me.

As far as the headsets go, the cheaper two would fail via the cable (I could 'push' the cable slightly into the housing and I could talk, but if I let go of the pressure they'd stop working again. And the two stereo headsets both had the crappy ribbon cable
twist inside it's casing, eventually just failing (the second one I purchased I would constantly unwind the cable to make sure it wasn't twisted, it made no difference and lasted just as long).

That's about $400 in accessories in two years of gentle use. Two microphones at $30 a piece, Two stereo headsets at $50, and four $60 controllers. This is completely unacceptable. I considered buying an elite controller but I no longer trust this company,
and if the analog started to drift I would probably going insane and start a jihad against xbox. I can't justify continuing spending money with this company if this is the norm. I don't know what to do, and am at the point where I'm considering switching to
playstation or just moving to pc gaming. Or maybe contacting the attorney general where they're manufactured, or a consumer advocate to see what kind of options there would be for a class action lawsuit

What's the deal? Are you intentionally making crappy analogs so they bust and I need to buy two a year? Are they just made like **** and it's something you're dealing with? Because I've been talking to a lot of people and this seems to be a really common
issue and it isn't being addressed by Microsoft whatsoever.

Help me. I'm going to go insane if I buy another controller and this happens.

Xbox one chatpad broke my Xbox one s controller

This is just very bad design and quality. Official accessory doesn't fit and destroys the hardware!

My controller died as swell on the attempt to connect the chatpad.

I feel your pain, dude. Currently I'm on my 5th controller, which has also recently broken down. There are a ridiculous amount of threads of people experiencing the same frustration. My searching revealed that it's usually folks who play Madden or Fifa
that have the most issues. Something is deteriorating with a lot of the quick movements that are required of the game. Reports of a clicking sound when trying to rotate the left stick. All of my controllers have had the same symptoms, sometimes including
a vertical drift upwards.

I've had enough and am moving on. I'm buying my fiance a PS4 for the holidays. Purchasing 4 Xbox One controllers at $60 a piece is $240 without including tax (shipping has been free w/Amazon Prime). The warranty only last 90 days, and the Xbox Terms of
Service force you to agree that you will not join a class action lawsuit against Microsoft. These controllers feel great, but I feel it's come at the expense of durability. By the way I should mention that I'm a casual gamer due to long hours my job entails.
I play maybe 2 hours a week, take great care of my controllers when not in use, and only play madden or castle storm.

This hasn't been the only bad experience that I've had with MS / Xbox, but I don't want to hijack this thread. Good luck to you if you stick with the XBone (I'm finally embracing this term). As for me, I hope the PS4 controllers are more durable than this
garbage.

That is a serious problem then. But if you have been through the troubleshooting guide found here

support.xbox.com/.../Controllers then buying a new controller or ordering a replacement are your only options

I think the quality is good on the normal controllers, but the Elite controllers are horrific. They are the worst console accessory in terms of quality that I've ever seen going back to the 70's.

At this point, I think the information just really needs to get out there to hopefully prevent other people from running into the same problem. This is also a serious quality-control issue. Since this is such a game-breaking bug with no fix, Microsoft should
probably suspend sales of this title until Ubisoft is able to come up with a solution.

It's not a symptom of a problem, as the accessory usually heats up.

And about compatibility with other wireless adapters, the vast majority are compatible yes.

What can happen is that if the adapter is of very poor quality, the PC may not recognize the controller as an xbox controller, and only as a wireless device.
