Serious lag issue xbox series s

Hope someone has a fix or can help in some way with this issue I have.

So the other night xbox live went down and ever since I've been having issues with gameplay. Before the whole xbox live going down situation and had no issues with my Internet and no issues with gameplay.

Anyway, my problem is that whenever I'm playing a game, fifa or cold war, I'm getting major lag spikes/packet loss. I test my connection speed via settings and everything comes up as it normally should. I've also used speed test on the Microsoft Edge app on xbox and speeds are good with 31 ping(this is normal for me) I do this a few times to make sure I'm getting a pretty good reading.

As soon as I go into a game of fifa, it lags instantly. Sometimes it's playable, other times not so much. The ping ranges from 24ms all the way up to 300ms or so. Packet loss ranges from 0% to 5%. I'll then go and test my connection and I get a bad reading. Close the games, test again and it's back to normal.

I've followed all the troubleshooting steps from disconnecting my router and turning it back on, hard resetting the xbox, clearing the alternate mac address. I'm just running out of patience with it.

I should also add that I have a sibling with a PS4 in the same household and he can play his games online no problem at all.

I've only had my Series S around 3 months now so I'm concerned that there is a problem with it.

If these two games are the only ones you are having the issue with, it’s possible that the local save for those two games has become corrupted. If so, deleting the local save and re-syncing with the cloud might correct the problem.
First, delete the local save:
1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide and then select My games & apps > See all > Games.
2. Highlight the game title, and then press the Menu button  on your controller.
3. Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data.
4. Select Delete all to remove the local save of this game, then follow the prompts.
After you delete the local save, restart your Xbox:
1. Press and hold the Xbox button  in the center of your controller.
2. Select Restart console, then follow the prompts.
After you restart your Xbox, re-sync your saved games to the cloud. Your saved games are automatically stored in the cloud while you’re connected to Xbox Live.
Try playing the games again to see if re-syncing with the cloud corrected the game problem.

Switch to a different graphics mode: Next-generation games typically offer two graphics modes: one for a higher resolution and one for a higher frame rate. Try switching to another graphics mode and see if that helps.

Restart the Xbox Series S: As with most electronic devices, a simple restart may be the easiest solution; restart the console to see if that helps.

Make sure the Xbox Series S is adequately cooled: Both Xbox Series X and Series S consoles use fans to keep the consoles cool. A hot console may underperform, so you need to make sure there are no heat issues.

Free up space on the Xbox Series S SSD: SSDs perform best when there is 10-20% free space as a general rule. If the Xbox Series S SSD is too full, it might be a good idea to uninstall some games.

Check your monitor or TV: A possible FPS drop and lag issue on the Xbox Series X|S might not involve the console at all. If you see low FPS with all games, the problem could be with your TV; Connect the console to another TV or monitor and see if the problem persists.

Check if the FPS loss and lag on the Xbox Series X|S occurs with other games: Not all games are programmed the same. If the problem occurs with only one game, it could be due to one or more problems with that game.

Funny how I haven't had this issue on my xbox one x ever but when I go on my xbox series S then it just starts having the lag spike issues with my captures.

And it still lags but my wifi works with other devices including a different xbox series s

If you are using the console connected via wireless I recommend connecting with an ethernet cable.

I also recommend calling your ISP and setting a fixed IP for the console and opening those network ports.

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

Also ask to put the IP of the console in the DMZ zone, if you need additional ports this function will take care of that.
