    Series X Worked for a Day, Now Won't Stay Powered On


    Our Series X is brand new, less than 24 hrs out of the box. We played it successfully last night but it started glitching and eventually started to turn off on its own. We left it alone for the night and went to bed.

    This morning when we turned it on you can see the light turn on, hear it spool up, the fan starts but then it turns off after about 5 seconds.

    • It's connected directly to a wall outlet.
    • It's well ventilated with nothing blocking the fan.
    • We disconnected the power cable and reconnected.
    • The only games we've played are Rocket League, APEX, Fortnite, Six Siege, and Sea of Thieves.

    What other things should we try before returning to Best Buy?

    I've tried it a multitude of ways. Looks like I'm returning this console. Really disappointed because I received a faulty One, and One X.

    do you have an external usb drive attached, if so unplug that and see if it is the same, if not then it looks to be faulty.

    you could try the service menu to see if you can reset the console.

    Nope. It would still work the same way. The One version will work on the Series X though and you could continue that way, but it won't look as good as the Series X version.
