    Series X won't turn off controller


    I want to know if someone here has encountered this issue, after the last console update (the one that makes the boot up screen shorter) when I press and hold the xbox button on the controller to shut the console off ( in both modes energy saver and stand by) the console will shut down, but the controll remain powered on.

    I'm sure it's an bug with the update or something because it was working normally until I updated the console, the only workaround I've found is to go to settings and shut down the console completely from the power mode and startup menu, then the controller will turn off

    I have an xbox series x. When turning the xbox on with a controller the system will turn on then immediately turn off and start again.
    Does this happen if you use the console on/off button?

    Is the console OS and the controller firmware up to date?

    I have tried turning everything off and disconnected everything, turned on the tv and connected the xbox to the amp and connected the amp to the tv making sure I plugged in to a arc input and turned that on I made sure the hdmi control on my amp was turned on my xbox will turn my amp on but my amp won't control my tv my old one s console had option to separately control both tv and amp but my series x console only has one option for cec control

    figured it out. Xbox series X wont turn off your controller or respond to the controller once its on a off state if your console is in ENERGY SAVER mode. In order to be able to turn your xbox on with the controller you must be in STANDBY mode. Thats a stupid move by Microsoft to force you to keep wasting power in order to turn on you console with the controller.
