Series X won't play discs.

If it's not backwards compatible, then it won't be possible to play it on a Series X with a disc or with a digital copy.

I'm assuming you're asking about the Series S and X not the One S and X?

If that is the case, if you have any games on discs you want to keep playing, get the Series X. You won't be able to play them on a Series S. Otherwise, the Series S is a little lower quality, but would be fine for casual gaming.

Yes it will as long as you mean a Series X, not a Series S. The Series S doesn't have a disc drive so it won't work there.

If your console is not recognizing any disc at all, it is most likely a problem on the console itself. To make sure the issue is not software related, you can try resetting your Xbox to factory settings, if you haven't already:

And please refer to this official support guide on one specific setting that may cause issues with disc reading, but if your issue persists, your console will need servicing.

Solution 1: If you use Sleep mode, change to Shutdown (energy saving) mode and power cycle the console

4. Perform a hard power cycle by holding down the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the Xbox button on the console again to restart it.
