Series X won't let me add an account

Well hello there !

Here's a problem that's been reported a few times on the internet, but never a clear fix has surfaced.

I wanted to have fun on my Series X that I don't play this often. The console updated.

I start having trouble logging my account in, most of the time I'll have an error 0x800704cf saying I'm having connection issues : the console connection test works perfectly, instantly giving a "your connection works!" message.

From time to time after some retries, it manages to log me in.

Yesterday, just impossible. Tired, I reset the console keeping my apps & games. Now no more accounts are on the console, BUT I can't log in at all ! I have the spinning circle thing. You know, you want to log in, a windows appears with a spinning circle, and sends you back to the main menu.

Alright, a bit frustrated, I power cycle the console, shuting it down with the button, unplugging it 10 secondes (and even more), pushing the button while it's unplugged, I plug it back, nothing. I factory reset it, losing my apps and games : nothing again.

Nothing, nothing, nothing. What's the matter ?

I apologize for the trouble. May I ask when was the last time that it worked just fine?

Seems like you have performed all the necessary steps. Have you also tried to use a different network?

Let's validate, now that you're signed in on your Xbox console please connect again on your network then test the network connection to check what is causing the issue.

Settings > General > Network Settings > Test Network Connection.

I didn't use it in weeks and it had no problems before, the only thing that changed is that when I booted it up last week, it installed an update, and since then I couldn't use the console normally. The updated was installed on 30/09 (so thursday)

No I didn't use another network, but I will try this out though, and tell you how it is going

Hello Francia, and thank you for your kind and quick answer.

I followed the steps exactly as told, sadly the bug is still there.

It's pretty much one of the most ridiculous I ever came across, the top end, next generation console, unable to display a simple windows to allow for entering credentials.

So it's still as follow : I want to log an account, so i click "Add an account"

The circle turns green and gets thinner

The windows disappears

No way for me to log any account

As said, I already : reset while keeping my games, reset and erasing everything, power cycled the console, and done what was suggested above.

I'll add that yesterday I tried to unplug the console, keep power button pushed for like 20 secondes, plugged the console back, and then, when starting up, it allowed me to enter my credentials. But when on the main screen, my account was not logged in, and I couldn't login again.
