Series X Turning itself on in energy saving mode.

Hi my series x is periodically turning itself on in energy saving mode.

I have an astro a50 headset connected over USB a 500tb external samsung SSD and the 1tb seagate expansion card.

About every 2hours the DVD drive makes the startup noise fans spin up and the console boots up for about 2min before shutting down again.

The xbox light does not light up the controller is off except for the DVD drive making the startup sound, there is no way to tell when it is happening without watching the fan spin.

When I start the console in that moment it behaves like it is in instant on mode starting ..instantly after ignoring it for 2min it goes through the normal cold boot behavior.

Is my series x faulty or is it normal that the console boots every 2hours?

Have your console's power mode set to 'Energy-saving' power mode and let us know if your console continue to turn itself on at night.

Which type of Xbox do you own?

If it's a Series X or S, you no longer have to put it into "instant on" (now called "sleep") mode for downloads to continue once the console is turned off. They will continue in "shut down" (previously called "energy saving") mode too.

In that instance, it's more likely to be some kind of router/networking issue.

Hey there,

When you power cycled, did you try this specific method? Give these steps a shot:

Press and hold the power button until your Xbox One fully powers down.
Unplug all accessories along with the power cable and let the console sit for 5 minutes.
Power everything back up and give it another shot!

If the energy mode selected is Instant-on, it's normal to see the Standby on message

My Series X is turned off as well. (And my energy mode is Instant on)
