    I have had issues with the Series X thinking a network cable is attached when it is not after a Restart. The only way to get my wireless connection back was to unplug the console and plug it back in. After considerable troubleshooting, I've narrowed it down to having an external usb 3.0 drive attached. If I unplug the usb hard drive before I restart, the console starts, and I have my wireless network connection without the Series X thinking I have a wired connection. Easy workaround now that I know all I have to do is unplug the external drive before restarting, but Microsoft does need to look into this issue. I've reported it several times with no acknowledgement from Microsoft that this is a known issue. Hopefully reporting that an external usb 3.0 hard drive has to be attached to make it happen will help them out. My external hard drive is a Toshiba Canvio 2TB usb 3.0 drive.

    The issue ended up being the external hard drive I had connected, it had system config data from a Series S I used to have. If I booted the series x without the hard drive attached no issues. I re-formatted the external hard drive and the issue went away.

    Hey there IL C0L0MBIAN0,

    It sounds like your console is restarting unexpectedly when the external hard drive is attached and working normally when it's not attached to the console. It's possible there is an issue with the external hard drive.

    Try plugging it into another USB port on the console and let us know if that helps out!

    Thank you, One more thing, Can I move a game from my attached hard drive to my console? I have fortnite installed on my attached hard drive so when I plug it in the xbox series x will I be able to move the game to my console internal hard drive and have the next gen benefit?
    I believe, if games are optimised for Series X/S, you will need to download and install as the version on your external drive would be the XBox One version. You could still play that version but it wouldn't have the next gen benefits.

    Xbox Series X games / upgrades / updates has to be installed onto the Series X internal or expansion card SSD,

    You can have Xbox One games on your external hard drive that will get an Series X upgrade but the games will need to be transferred to the Series X and then the Series X upgrade will need to be downloaded onto the Series X SSD,

    As an example...

    I have Marvel Avengers on my external hard drive that will get the Series X upgrade and I will transfer the game over to the Series X SSD ready to download and update the game to the Series X version when available.
