Series X strange start up behaviour

My series X went into automatic sleep mode or standby, after 1 hour.

I come back to the series X, try to turn it on (using a turtle beach recon) controller, it turns on.

However once turned on, the light on the controller remains off like it’s not getting power.

A strange repeating sound can be heard from the console itself, like it comes from the Blu-ray player, hard to describe exactly.

The console also didn’t connect to the internet during this.

I turned it off and on again using the button on the console.

Same result, tried the official Xbox controller for series X, I can feel it gets power (from the slight rumble) but Xbox button on the controller blinks and on the homescreen it won’t let me do anything.

I hold the powerbutton for 10 seconds now to make it fully shutdown.

Checked all the wiring, plugged the recon controller in again, now it turns on normally with no issues.

However this type of thing seems to happen more and more, where the console will not respond to the controller especially when i took out the headphone jack at some point previously even when the console was turned off, but will work normally once I unplug/replug the controller.

There are no error codes, it never shuts down during use / gaming / other activities or any other strange behaviour.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I wanted to be as specific as possible.

What’s the deal guys? Is this a failing hardware issue or just random strangeness?

Only change is the February update, but it behaved strangely before this too, though never like this extreme.

Its already updated.

I have already done the clearing cache option.

It is working now, but this behavior keeps coming back.

I don’t think a hard reset solves anything in this case, but will try after next time.

First, check if there aren't any pending updates for your console, if it does, update it, please.

After you do that, try to restore your console as well.

First, clean the cache of your console that way:

1. With the console turned on, hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until you hear a small sound.

2. Wait 10 seconds.

3. Turn it back on.

Note: It may take a while for it to turn on, don't worry, it's normal.

Then, restore your console keeping the games and apps:

***IMPORTANT*** If you share accounts with someone, you will have to redo the process of placing the account as the main one again, be aware of the chances you still have to do this, as Microsoft makes available per year, only 5 chances so you can make some account your console's main account.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

2. Select System > Settings > System > Console Information >

3. Select Reset console > Restore and keep my games and apps.

4. When asked to pull settings from an old Xbox, choose no, thanks

5. You will have to log in to your accounts again, and when you sign in with your account, make sure you turn it has your home console also, that's it.

NOTE: Rest assured, you won't lose games or saves

I see. If this keeps happening my friend, could be a hardware issue indeed.

In that case, it's recommended that you activate your warranty and send it back.

hey, im no expert but yeah, its from the disk tray, put a disk and turn it on, see if it works
