Series X scrolls up in game

Recently my controller just started scrolling up in games without my input. Figured it was drift so I bought a new controller but have the same problem and it appears to be getting worse. The really strange thing is there appears to be no movement when doing a test in the accessory app. Anyone come across this?

Make sure you have the latest controller firmware update by following the steps in this support page,

Update xbox wireless controller. I prefer the usb method.

Just for complete cover, ordered a cable just to check if updating that way made a difference, arrives tomorrow but tonight I had no issue, first time this week!!!

Both controllers have the latest firmware I’m afraid, definitely seems to be getting worse.
