Series X Screen Flickering and Controller Disconnect

I've been having this issue since I bought my Xbox Series X. I found that quick resume worsens the flickering. I will be playing a game and the screen will start to flicker a little bit, then after a while the controller will disconnect and start flashing. Sometimes it will reconnect in about 1-2 minutes, others I have to turn off the Series X manually.

This has happened on a variety of games including Madden 22, Civilization VI, Two-Point Hospital, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc, so it doesn't matter if it is high graphics game or not.

I thought it was a tv issue since my tv was about 5 years old, so I went and bought a new Sony x85j. I have the tv set up for VRR on the HDMI port that supports 120hz. I have the xbox set at 4k @ 60 Hz since having the xbox set at 120 Hz made the issue happen more. Here is a video showing the flickering and my Xbox Settings

Solutions I have tried.

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it

Blu-ray & Disc > Persistent Storage > Clear it

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

I have tried a different 8k HDMI cable.

I have held the power button and unplugged the power from the back of the xbox.

I have gone into Settings and went to Full Shutdown.

The Reset, unplugging the power, and full shutdown will fix the issue for a few days, but it always comes back.

I was wondering if there were any other suggestions or do I need to send my Xbox in to get serviced?

Thanks for the reply Ricardo, I have tried changing from 4k down to 1080 and it still showed the flickering.

In that case you will need to request the warranty service for the device

I may have a solution to this.

It may have to do with a hdmi handshake issue with standby mode.

The best simple solution is to when you start encountering the flickering, press home button exit out (saves game as quick resume) go into settings, sleep mode and start up, restart now.

Once you restart the issue shouldnt repeat.

When the xbox and tv is turned on they handshake/communicate with one another. I think standby mode somehow corrupts this process by keeping it on. I have switched to energy save so that the console isnt powered on all the time and possibly doesnt lead to handshake corruption.

Have you tried using a lower resolution? This won't be actually a fix but if that works could mean that is something related to it, in any case best thing would be to request a warranty service

you could get controller disconnects, wi fi drop outs, screen flickering, HDD wiping and even worst case scenario is effectively 'frying' the MB within the X1
