Series x plugged into surge protecter bad?

As noted above, the Official Microsoft position is that it should be plugged directly into a wall socket.

Personally, I have had my Series X plugged into a surge protector since I owned it (last May) as I only have one wall socket near my Series X and my TV, monitor, PC and stereo all need plugging in as well. My One X was also plugged into it for a year. Have had no issues with either...and this included when I was having PC issues and my main house circuit breaker kept getting tripped.

Hi Tamer, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Plugging in your console on a surge protector is not bad but Microsoft recommends plugging in the console directly on a wall socket.

Xbox Series X - Surge Protection

All xbox consoles have had surge protection built in so there's no reason to think the series x/s wont.

The last thing Microsoft want is bad publicity due to consoles failing because of no built in surge protection.

    Xbox One X Hardware/Power Problem

Is your console plugged directly into power outlet?

Or is it connected into an extension cord, or a surge protector?

If connected via extension, try connecting it straight into outlet.

The x has it's own surge protection, and external surge protection is advised AGAINST.

If the issue continues, I suggest checking out hardware troubleshooting, and if this bares no success, maybe a faulty unit

Outlet is bad, power strip is good, this is not the problem. Sounds more like power supply problem than anything. Don't ever plug directly into an outlet, no surge protection... then again, if you're rich and don't mind buying a new console if the power
surges, by all means, plug right into the outlet.
