    Series X Launch Disappointment

On the day pre-orders went live, I tried and tried to get a Series X. Your website kept having issues and I was not able to. Now today I had more problems with your website. I was able to “purchase” one but at the end when I went to ‘Place order’ I kept
getting an error message. “something went wrong on our end – try again”. I spoke to 3 different chat agents. Each one shuffling me off to someone else. Only to end up with the last one telling me there is no chat service for my problem. All the while I waited
on hold for two hours, seven minutes and 49 seconds for someone to come on and tell me that you no longer have any available and that I would have to try back later. Of all the tech-giants on the planet, Microsoft should not be having these kinds of issues.
First of all, you guys should be much better prepared for launch day. Second, you should have clear and concise info for people experiencing problems. Info as to what is going on. Info as to who to contact. None of that stuff is clear. Lastly, you guys have
to come up with a much better system for such a major release. You guys are getting trashed all over the internet for your ability to handle both pre-orders and launch day. And rightly so. There are solutions that could both help your loyal customers get their
console and also get inventory into stores so it is available for more casual gamers in a competitive space. Step one: invitation to pre-order sent to your xbox live subscribers sent out in order of seniority to the oldest accounts 1st. Step two: invitation
to every other xbox live subscriber. Step three: take as many pre-orders as people want to place but be honest with people about when they will receive their console. You guys should be able to know your capacity and gauge your orders and know how long it
will take. Step four: allot a percentage of your production to in-store inventory. As a lifetime gamer who has purchased every xbox on or close to launch day and who started gaming on a pong, what I really want is just to know I have one coming. Launch day
would be great, but, to not have to go through all this stress, I could live with waiting. If I could just go on and order one and be told a ballpark on when I would have it. 3 weeks. 6 weeks. Whatever. I get that this launch is a big deal and everyone wants
one. I get that I may have to wait because of this. What I don’t get is the chaos. Having to waste hours. Non-clarity. Right hands not talking to left hands. Only to get on “oh sorry. You can try again later". I am certain that Microsoft can do better.

    :)

XBOX FITNESS WILL BE BACK !!!

I really liked it too and was disappointed when it was discontinued. Maybe when they launch the Series X they'll have something similar as an additional feature.

Same thing happened to me. Got the exact same error message so thanks for saving me some time on hold. Not sure how a tech company like Microsoft can't figure out the inventory system. There is 100% no excuse for an ordering system to show and allocate
a product to me but not allow me to purchase after it's been assigned.

Will series X require Internet and Microsoft account on initial setup?

I have seen that it uses the same OS as the old one. I guess we will see near the launch of the console. But seeing that some reviewers got prototype Series X in their hands I wonder if they were preconfigured or something like that.

That is my point in buying the console.

I thought that they made the internet required startup on the Xbox One to revert the online DRM.

However if they do that on purpose with the Series X it would be very disappointing!

    Obsolete Consoles

I dont believe that current consoles will be obsolete after series X launches. Please keep in mind that there is still time for series X to be launched and current consoles are not going anywhere.
