    Series X has display issues only on 360 Games


    Got my XSX last Thursday - game pass titles (Sea of Thieves, Control) play great and look as they should but two 360 games I tried have strange pixel issues. In the screenshot below, the XSX UI that overlays does not have the pixels, its just what the 360
    game outputs.

    I have disc version of FFXIII and a digital copy of Castlevania: SOTN. Both of these 360 games have display artifacts. I am using the official HDMI cable from the box. My TV is 4k but does not have 120Hz. I tried connecting to a HDMI computer monitor
    and saw the same issue.

    Switching cable did not fix issue and the TV firmware is up to date.

    Any ideas? Is this a hardware issue? I can't find anyone else posting about this.

    Xbox Series X|S and lower resolutions

    The Xbox Series S/X only has a HDMI socket for display, so it will only support that display option. As for 720p or 1080p, it should support 1080p, but 720p is anyone's guess, as Microsoft haven't stated if it supports 720p or not.

    Just some additional information you should be aware of:

    The Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 emulation software on the Xbox One and Series X is quite fussy with passwords. It may display an error with passwords that it has issues with, even if these passwords work fine on the main account of an Xbox One or Series X console.

    • Keep your password to less than 11 characters.
    • If your password has special characters (such as !"%@~#) these can cause issues. Also passwords with spaces can also have problems.
    Bear in mind there is no such thing as an Xbox 360 account an Xbox One account or a Series X account. Your Microsoft/Xbox account will work on all Xbox Online services on different consoles and PCs.

    Hi,

    It always runs at 4K or near 4K and is then downsampled to whatever your display is capable of.

    I can only assume your using better graphics settings than what the Series X default settings are. The Game is highly customisable on PC.

    Can't really compare it on my PC to my Series X as as my gaming rig has an RTX 2080.

    "issue with flickering pixels that only happen on the menus of the console, but not in game"

    tried multiple displays and multiples HDMI cable.

    Do you have any news update?
