    I've been playing my Series X for less than a week, and recently the games I've downloaded from Game Pass are not loading. When I try to play them, the initial screen will come up, then fade to black and nothing will happen after that. This has been happening
    specifically for Need for Speed Heat and Payback, as well as Forza Horizon 4. Some games will actually start but will lag and skip while loading. For example, in Mortal Kombat XL, every time I try to select a different character in the menu, the screen will
    freeze for a few seconds, then recover. Halo will work, but only after a lot of skipping in the the game intro. Oh, and Warzone/MW will start, but there is NO SOUND when I try to play.

    The XBox is hard wired to my modem, so there should be no issue with internet connectivity. When a "Connection Speed Test" is run, the most recent results are Download speed: 834.09 Mbps, Upload: 390.82, Packet Loss 0%, MTU 1480, Latency 45ms

    I don't know if it's related, but this all started happening after I downloaded Warzone. My next step will be to uninstall that to see if it fixes anything, but I doubt that it will.

    I save most of my games on a 1TB external hard drive, which is at about 75% capacity. My XBox HD is at about 25%.

    Any ideas?

    Series X. I can't even get into the game. As soon as I try and launch a new game from the title screen I get a black screen and the loading icon freezes. So frustrating.

    I've been having the same issue. On Xbox One X it gets stuck/freezes on loading. After several attempts I left it on the frozen loading screen.. after 10 mins it loads in correctly.
    May I ask how you stayed on the frozen loading screen? Ten seconds after freezing on my Xbox One X the game just quits out. I cant stay on the frozen screen for long.

    When will we be able to play xbox series X/S games from a external drive?

    It would just like to add that Series X|S games are developed to only use faster storage. Not only is this storage totally different to a mechanical hard drive, the way games are loaded is also different. In addition, the Xbox Series X|S hardware can leverage additional resources to load to games from internal SSD or external SSD's even faster, what Microsoft calls its Xbox 'Velocity Architecture'.

    As previously stated, you're never going to be able load your Xbox Series X games from an external hard drive. They're just too slow.

    Hi, yes that will be so, if you bought a game for the XBOX One, it will run better on the XBOX One X (FPS and loading times) and run even better on the XBOX Series X (FPS and loading times)
