Series x freezes then shutdown

I changed it to never turn off , but I’m playing games when it freezes . I’m not just letting it idle or turn off after media. The console seems to freeze after 5-6 hours of playing , then shuts down and I have to manually turn they system again again. When the console shutdowns the controller stays on.

It’s only happened twice since owning the console, and factory reset doesn’t fix it, just curious as to if this is still a known issue

Are you facing this freezing and shut down issue only when you are playing one specific game or does it happen with all of the games? If this happens only with Sea of thieves game, then I'd recommend re-installing the game and preform a Soft Reset to your console (Keep games and apps) following the steps listed below. However, if the issue appears with all of the games, then I would advice you to check for any system update on your console as it will help refresh the system and get rid of the issue. These steps you need to follow to preform a Soft Reset:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   
2. Select Settings.
   
3. Select All Settings.
   
4. Select System.
   
5. Select Console info & updates.
   
6. Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]
   

Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.
