Series X flickering

Hello everyone and first of all a happy new year 2022

Since a few weeks, I have a problem with my Series X in connection with HDR. As soon as I activate HDR and start a game that supports HDR, my image starts to flicker after a short time. At first it was only 1-2x within a few hours and only with CoD Warzone. Now I have it in almost all the games I play at the moment, such as FH 5, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Farming Simulator 19/22, NBA2k22, Cyberpunk, Vanguard, Cold War etc. and every few minutes. 2 days ago it was the case that the flickering only stopped after I disabled HDR. The Series X is attached to a 4k/60Hz monitor. In the meantime I have tested it on 3 other monitors and had the same problem. I have also tried various HDMI cables, have already completely reset the console to the factory settings and also changed the bit rate of the color rendering. Unfortunately, nothing helped. The only thing that helps is to disable HDR permanently. But I think with a 500 € console, this should not be a solution.

Has anyone of you already had this problem and a solution for it or tips on what I could still try?

I cannot find the post again, but IIRC I saw people mention the electricity cable, some had to change it completely and some just had to turn it 180 degrees (switch holes/pins on Xbox energy cable).

Not 100% sure but worth a try.

Thanks for reaching out to the Xbox forums! I am sorry to hear that you struggle with flickering issues on the series X. When you mention that you are using a 4k/60hz monitor, are you using a PC monitor or TV? IF you have attempted this on three other displays and have done all other troubleshooting steps. MY recommendation is to start a service order and send in your Xbox for repair or replacement. Let me provide you with the link to how to do this.

I have exactly the same issue today with the Xbox Series X but not the S.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Given the solutions you've tried to solve this problem, I suggest you try the alternatives below, please.

Try testing your console on another TV or Monitor if possible

Change the HDMI port your console is connected to the tv and also the console itself

Try plugging the console directly into the power outlet, without using a line filter

Try testing the console on another power outlet

Try using another HDMI cable if possible

- If none of the above steps solve the problem, I suggest you try the solutions below.

'Solution 1:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Solution 2:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

- Select the option to keep your games and apps so that they are not deleted, make sure you know your email and password as they will be removed from the console and you will need to add them again.

if you read the original post he stated he already did that, this is a known issue with freesync and va panels.
