  1. Series X External HDD

For a few days now, when my seagate 4Tb (xbox official) external HD is plugged into any of the USB ports on the series x. My games don't load, my sync button doesn't work and sometimes reads no games installed. I've done the power rotation (hold for 15 secs), I've reset my mac address, I've powered off and removed all cables for 10 minutes and done a reset but keep all games with no luck. I am unsure if its the xbox or the hard drive as I'm reluctant to format it due to 4TB worth of games but was wondering if anyone has seen this and what they did to rectify it?

    :)

    Missing Xbox gold game

Do you use an external HDD? I'm sure most do. I have a 4TB external as my main HDD with every Forza on it including 5. When you get Series X, it's as simple as unplugging the HDD and plugging it into the USB on the Series X. Done. All games will be playable
and benefit from some enhancements. (still need to see more info on this, exciting nonetheless)

I have switched to an Xbox series X from an Xbox one S. we used an external sea gate hard drive to store games. The series x can see the hard drive but not all of the games stored on it

What makes me think it’s a problem with the HDD is that I just plugged in another external drive that I use on a series s and the series x saw all the games stored on it. I may need to format the other hdd?

Can i download the Xbox One version of dying light 2 on my Series X?

This method did not work for me, it still downloaded the series x/s version of the game to my external hdd and would not play it.

    Storage device, Series X/S

external hdd's are not fast enough for the new series s/x optimised games and therefore have to run off the internal ssd or the new expansion cards, all xbox one games and 360 BC games can run off your external hdd.
