  1. Series X external HDD accessing at weird times

I wanted to see if any other Insiders were seeing this possible issue. I did report this issue thru the console. I have a series x with a seagate 8tb game drive hub connected as well as a 500gb Samsung t3 SSD. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the seagate drive is spinning up and being accessed while playing games off of my internal SSD or my samsung external SSD. I also will hear that seagate drive very active after shutting down my console. I checked my games and apps tonight and didn’t see anything in the queue that lives on the seagate being updated. Just sounds like a whole lot of reading/writing going on for a drive that isn’t currently being used.

    Missing Xbox gold game

Do you use an external HDD? I'm sure most do. I have a 4TB external as my main HDD with every Forza on it including 5. When you get Series X, it's as simple as unplugging the HDD and plugging it into the USB on the Series X. Done. All games will be playable
and benefit from some enhancements. (still need to see more info on this, exciting nonetheless)

I have switched to an Xbox series X from an Xbox one S. we used an external sea gate hard drive to store games. The series x can see the hard drive but not all of the games stored on it

What makes me think it’s a problem with the HDD is that I just plugged in another external drive that I use on a series s and the series x saw all the games stored on it. I may need to format the other hdd?

Can i download the Xbox One version of dying light 2 on my Series X?

This method did not work for me, it still downloaded the series x/s version of the game to my external hdd and would not play it.

Will the Xbox Series X be able to use my external SSD

You can or should be able to use it for the Series X but i don't recommend running your games from it,

as you wont get the fast loading or fast travel time of what the Series X custom NVMe SSD is capable of,

It's best to use any external HDD or SSD for just game storage and transfer you most played games onto the Series X NVMe SSD.
