    Series X Ethernet issues. Port seems inactive at cold boot.


    Seemingly at random I am having issues with my Series X when connected via ethernet.

    Occasionally on cold boot, it is as if the Ethernet port isn't active at all and cannot connect to Xbox Live. Running a network test will say that I am connected to the internet, but any other test will fail.

    The other issue seems to be that the Xbox will fail to connect via UPNP, leaving a strict NAT on cold boot. This can generally be corrected by testing the NAT on the console, but this is an issue that I am not having with my One X or OG One.

    For clarification, I have restarted the router, modem, and console and am still frequently getting these same results. I am currently on the most recent Public OS.

    Xbox series x Ethernet port broken?

    Hi all,

    It’s not a new question I know, but is there any fix for the Ethernet port problem with the Series X planned?

    I can see questions ranging back from release and it is making the unit completely frustrating to use. Any time it powers down, it disconnects from Ethernet upon restart and takes a long period of restarts, resets and unplugging to reconnect again.

    It seems to be particularly bad when in energy saving mode, where it won’t connect at all. I’ve tried every way of resolving the problem but it simply reoccurs immediately afterwards and never stays connected for long.

    Microsoft must be aware - are they planning a fix? Is it a hardware/firmware problem? Are all series x’s doing this?
    I'm having the same problem. Unplugged my series x and played on another console, plugged my series x in and couldn't connect to internet using ethernet port. Wireless works fine. Did everything to diagnose the problem. Called Microsoft and I'm barely 2 months out of my warranty, go figure. Read up on this problem and we are definitely not the only ones dealing with wonky ethernet ports. Wish I had a answer for ya bud.

    I have this same issue on my Series X. Was working fine for a couple days then it hard crashed (thanks CODBLOPS: Cold War!) and wen it came back the ethernet port is dead.

    Submit a ticket through support (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us) which will lead you to your devices on your MS account (https://account.microsoft.com/devices/), you may need to add it. They will get you a shipping label to send the unit in for
    repair.. not the solution we want, I know.

    Anyone have any thoughts on this? It seems very strange that it only seems to have issues on cold boot, and when a connection test is run it works fine.
