Series X controller has stiff trigger

I recently got the 20th anniversary controller for the Series X and for a few weeks it worked perfectly fine. Now whenever I put batteries in it, the left trigger gets really stiff and squeaks a lot. It seems like the battery tab is almost pressing against the side of the trigger but it's not a problem I've ever heard of and it works fine when the battery compartment is empty. Any help would be appreciated cause I have no idea how to fix it.

    :)

Series X controller has stiff trigger

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

Please see a well detailed guide on how to troubleshoot the Xbox Wireless Controller here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...

If that doesn't help with the issue, you will need to send the device to Microsoft for a service repair/replacement. You can see how to do that here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...

If the controller is still under warranty, the repair/replacement is free. If the warranty has expired, it will cost you a fee depending on the type of controller you own. You can check out Microsoft's out of warranty service cost here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...

Controller Firmware Update - Messed up my controller?!?

I have an issue similar to yours and identical to other users: even after OS update 10.0.22000.2656,
on Xbox Series X when some games like Doom Eternal, Crash Bandicoot 4, Psychonauts 2, Tales of Arise and Visage are launched (only Xbox Series X enhanced games and not all of them) any Xbox Series X controller incur in an input issue, with battery and with USB cable without battery: if any key or trigger is pressed rapidly it doesn't work, a sort of input lag. The issue persist in any dashboard menu or in any other game that don't give this issue, then if I turn off and turn on the controller again the problem disappear until I return to the game in background that caused the issue. Any Xbox One X controller works perfectly instead. Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X controller are update with the latest update. I noticed that when the issue start the usual buzzing noise of the controller change sound, a lower sound. This issue started since about 4 months after a system update. I have reported many times this issue and it has been reported by other users too.
Analog sticks and triggers calibration from the system menu is missing, an essential feature in my opinion, I'm reporting this since 3 years.

    Xbox Series X controller trigger

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Henrique, not sure, but on sites like e-bay maybe you can find this sponge.

I once found this and other parts on Aliexpress, but it will depend a lot on the supplier.

    Xbox Series X type-c port?

On the video, Xbox Series X has USB type A only.

The new controller, I think is type-A (Xbox Series X) to type-c (controller). (Elite2 is a to c usb)

    Controller wear and tear
Has anyone noticed the stiffening of the analogue sticks after 12 months of use? All the 360 controllers I've had since 2008 started to become stiff after a year. I'm on my 4th controller as of today.
I have had lots of controllers, most of them had analogue drift after surprisingly little use, squeaky trigger buttons and the nototiously "naff" d-pad, some of them had battery pack issues, but apart from that, they are the best controllers available
    for the Xbox 360...
