    Series X Controller Disconnecting and Reconnecting


    I'm having some trouble with my Series X controller on PC, and I'm hoping to get some help. My basic issue is that the controller disconnects and reconnects intermittently when I'm connected via Bluetooth.
    It works fine when it's wired, but I really need to use the controller wirelessly.

    I've noticed that this issue affects certain games more than others. It's barely noticeable for some games, while other games are completely unplayable, disconnecting every 5 - 10 minutes. It affects games
    regardless of the launcher (I've tested the Xbox Game Pass app, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect).

    This is might related, but I've also noticed that the controller never says it's fully charged with the Xbox game bar. No matter how long it's been charging, or if I'm using brand new AA batteries, the Xbox
    game bar on PC always shows that it only has a little battery left. That's obviously a bug, because the controller lasts for hours, the battery level never changes on the game bar, and within Windows devices it correctly shows the battery level.

    Previously, I've tested games on this PC using a Sony DualShock 4, and the Bluetooth connection on that worked fine, never dropping out or disconnecting. This problem appears completely limited to the Series X controller.

    This is what I've tried to fix the connection:
    - Moved the controller closer to my PC and my motherboard's antenna (it doesn't seem to matter how far away or close I sit)
    - Moved my router farther away from my controller
    - Updated the controller's firmware
    - Updated windows
    - Updated Bluetooth drivers
    - Restarted the controller
    - Restarted windows
    - Made sure the controller is fully charged
    - Used both AA batteries and the battery pack
    - Tried different games and different launchers
    - Turned off my computer's wifi
    - Removed the device from Windows and paired it again

    I've done all the basic troubleshooting steps, so I guess I have a few questions:

    1. Is there anything that isn't listed above that I could try to solve the issue?

    2. Is this behavior typical of Xbox controllers on PC, or is this a known issue for new Series X controllers?

    3. Is it necessary to buy the $25 wireless adapter for a $60 controller, even though my PC already supports Bluetooth?

    4. Should I simply assume my controller is defective and get a replacement?

    Microsoft Elite Controller 2 disconnects from XBOX One X intermittently

    This did not work, I also noticed that if I shut off the XBOX One X it disconnects this controller and I have to reconnect it on startup. This does not happen with my other controllers just the Elite series 2 one.. I'll request a replacement

    Perhaps some other device is interfering with the console or controllers. If possible, try to move away any equipment that could cause interference.

    Clear the console cache by holding the power button until the console turns off, remove the power cord for 1 minute and test if the problem happens again.

    If the problem still persists follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.
    In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

    To reset the console>
    Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

    ***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***
