    There isn't a category for the controllers so I'm shoving it here. Just bought the controller for pc and updated it. D-Pad works fine but when pressing up, it requires more force and it only registers a third of the time. Yes, this is how it is with every game/program I made sure it wasn't a software error. I was looking at other forums and people went to PMS and disappeared instead of putting an answer so here I am.

    I can return it, but I was wondering if there's a fix for this? Could be less hassle to just fix it manually. This is the version I bought if that matters Xbox Wireless Controller + USB-C® Cable | Xbox

    Xbox one controller

    The Xbox Series X controllers will work on Xbox One consoles, and the Xbox One controllers (including the Elite/Elite V2) will work on Xbox Series X too.

    This works as of so far. Go to console settings, then go to system info.

    Do this series of keys to reset it.

    Left trigger, right trigger

    X,Y

    Left bumper, right bumper

    X, X

    Up on d-pad, down on d-pad

    Hope this works

    The issue seems to apply to all the new D-pads with the audio jack and the better bumpers (not just the Covert Forces ones): The D-pad, which was clicky and responsive in the earlier controller version, is now silent and un-responsive. It takes a lot more
    pressure, and even then, inputs are often missed. I bought one at Gamstop, had the problem, returned and exchanged it, and the replacement has the same problem.

    Why would MS change something that worked so well? This is infuriating. There seems to be no solution other than tracking down an older-version controller for the One. Any hope of a design fix?
