Series X Continues to download in standby energysave mode

I thought about that for a bit, but does not make sense.

- it's on EnergySaver you shut down more, and there is the problem

- instant on would be standby and that works fine.

EnergySaver or standby would be the same, think they both check for updates. I think I read somewhere..

No mode allow for complete shutdown, but on Sleepmode setting page "full shutdown" and that works to.

I think can be fixed with software update the more I think about it.

I would like option to completely shutdown from X-button menu. That would be grand. A setting to assign which shutdown you want to X-button or similar.

I do all updates manually anyway.

Xbox defaults to Energy saver mode. You will have to switch it to standby for downloads to continue while powered down

In settings if I go to sleep mode and startup it only gives me the option for standby or energy saver

Standby puts the console into a lower power state and continues to download/update games.

Energy Saver turns off the console. In Energy Saver it's not possible to download games or updates.

The Series X does not have a standby mode like the PS4/5. It only has a shut down option. I have tried a hard reset on the console, and I tried to reset my console. Nothing works.

Which type of Xbox do you own?

If it's a Series X or S, you no longer have to put it into "instant on" (now called "sleep") mode for downloads to continue once the console is turned off. They will continue in "shut down" (previously called "energy saving") mode too.

In that instance, it's more likely to be some kind of router/networking issue.
