Series X clicking sound

Unfortunately it didn’t stop the clicking plus no matter how I position it, it’ll always just shut off.

Making sure that the console is in a well-ventilated place as well as cleaned out is the necessary steps for this concern and the clicking sound is surely not normal.

In this case, kindly reposition the console and check if the issue will persist. Also, you may need to reset the console keeping games and apps to remove any corrupted data that may be causing the issue.

Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

My console always had coil whine, but that's not what I'm talking about. My Series X as of recently started making a hard drive like clicking sound, but only when idle and I'm on the home screen. And soon as I start a game, the noise completely stops. My Series X always made a low electrical buzzing sound when games were running and still does. With that being said, that's not what I'm concerned about, it's a clicking like sound that constantly continues until I launch a game and then it stops and the normal coil whine kicks in depending on the game.

Mostly yes, sometimes it's late, I mean for example in a shooter the shooting is delayed I guess because of that.
